Profile

Adeyemi is a globally recognised business leader, industrialist, and philanthropist with diverse interests and experience in banking, energy, sports, automobiles, real estate, and oil and gas.

He founded Aircom Nigeria Limited, a renowned infrastructure development company, over 30 years ago in 1992, and he continues to serve as its Chief Executive Officer. He is a highly experienced boardroom expert with knowledge spanning real estate, banking, manufacturing, sports development, and philanthropy.

His core competency lies in business transformation and restructuring for optimal performance. He held a non-executive director role at NBM Bank from 1999 to 2005 and continued as a non-executive director at Sterling Bank PLC from 2005 until his retirement in July 2015. Also, Adeyemi served as Chairman of Sterling Capital during his tenure. Additionally, he played a vital role as the General Secretary of the Bank Directors Association of Nigeria (BDAN) from 2009 to 2014.

Adeyemi’s influence extends to other sectors; he currently serves as Chairman of Leyland Nigeria, the country's largest indigenous automobile assembly plant, and Chairman of STB Mortgage Bank. He has previously served on the board of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF).

In sports, he has dedicated himself to philanthropy and grassroots sports development for many years. He was appointed Board Chairman of the Nigerian Academicals Sports Committee (NASCOM) in November 2012. He is on the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) Reform Committee and is the National Patron of the Nigeria School Sports Federation (NSSF). Adeyemi is a co-founder and Director of the highly successful Lagos Junior League and serves as Chairman of Nath Boys Sports Club, an amateur youth sports organisation and owner of Nath Boys Football Club.

He is the founder of the Nathaniel Idowu Foundation, which actively supports sports, education, and healthcare infrastructure. In 2018, it donated a state-of-the-art Multidisciplinary Translational Research Complex to the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, comprising purpose-designed laboratories, teaching rooms, offices, and an expanded animal house, which was commissioned by the Vice President of Nigeria. The Foundation further enhanced medical research capabilities in West Africa by donating West Africa's first drug testing and toxicology unit to the Ibadan College of Medicine in 2020.
